RuPaul’s Drag Race, the global powerhouse from World of Wonder, has announced that all the American versions of the reality competition have been renewed for fresh seasons on MTV and Paramount+.

Staying on its current network, RuPaul’s Drag Race will enter its 16th season to be aired on MTV in the near future.

The cast of drag queens entering the competition this season is still unannounced, though rumors have been swirling for months regarding the possibilities. Recently the drag daughters of former Drag Race contestants Kornbread “The Snack” Jete and Kandy Muse went silent on social media platforms during the usual filming time for RuPaul’s Drag Race competitions.

Over the last 15 seasons, the queens have been competing against one another for increasingly higher grand prizes. When the show began in 2009, Bebe Zahara Benet made history as the inaugural winner, receiving $20,000. That prize has since increased 10 fold and $200,000 was awarded to last year’s winner Sasha Colby.

In addition to the long-running series being renewed, Drag Race spinoffs have also received new season orders. RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked which began during the second season of the competition series serves as a look behind the scenes of the series. By granting viewers access to additional interactions between the queens, special celebrity appearances, and an inside look at the departing queen’s journey out the door, they are able to connect with the queens in deeper ways.

Returning for a 9th season, RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars returns to Paramount+. This lot of drag queens return to the Werkroom with experience in the world of wonder that is Drag Race. Many have grown their artistry to levels unseen during their original time on the show. These queens are featured in the annual competition to determine the next entry in the “Drag Race Hall of Fame” as esteemed by RuPaul.

All Stars varies from the main competition due to the competing queens voting in favor of the removal of one of the bottom two or worst performing queens of the week as decided by the judges for the week.

Along with the 9th season of RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars will be it’s companion series RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars Untucked. This series showcases the deliberation between the queens regarding who will he eliminated from the contest in addition to the other offerings from the standard Untucked fare. This will also be available on Paramount+.

Historically, new seasons of the main Drag Race competition hit the airwaves in January, with All Stars premiering in May although the premiere dates for the new seasons have not been confirmed.
