Robert Newman, who played Ashland Locke on The Young and the Restless, took to social media on Wednesday to address his exit from the show and to thank the fans of the sudser!

In the video, which is a little over 2 minutes long, he says that the scenes with Victoria (Amelia Heinle)and Nick (Joshua Morrow)that aired this week were the last ones he shot and they taped about 5 weeks ago. He also said his contract with the show was finished.

He goes on to say he has left LA and returned home to be with his family. He thanked the cast and crew as well as the fans and said he enjoyed his time in the fictional Genoa City.

Newman also filled fans in on his next project! He will be appearing as Dennis Dupree in the stage version of the musical Rock of Ages! He is starting rehearsals today in Michigan for the show. It will be put on by the Barn Theater in Augusta, Michigan from August 9th-21st. He said he welcomes fans to the show and would be happy to take pictures and give autographs afterward to anyone who attends.

Robert ended the video by thanking everyone again and teasing that we may see him again one day.
