‘The Young and the Restless’ star Mishael Morgan made history earlier this year when she became the first black woman to win a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Performance in a Drama series. The acclaimed Canadian/Trinidadian actress chats about her storied career, and the future of soap operas with The Morning Show.

In regards to her thoughts on soaps moving from Network TV to streaming, she shared, “I’m excited. I’m really excited to see, because I think it was Days (of Our Lives) that’s moving to Peacock. I’m excited to see how that works out because a lot of the streaming platforms, they need more and more content and you can’t get more content than a soap. Every single day there is a new episode so I am excited to see how it pays off because I think it could be really great for the genre.
