Big Brother 25’s Luke Valentine was removed from the reality competition last week after using a racial slur on the show’s 24/7 live stream. Today, his commentary continues.
In an Instagram live broadcast, Valentine took questions while smoking a cigar discussing topics such as making a poor living as a starving artist. Quickly viewers brought up the Big Brother ousting, “I’m not upset with production, their hands were tied.” he said.
During the airing of the August 10, 2023 live Eviction episode, Valentine was revealed to have had broken Big Brother’s zero tolerance Code of Conduct regarding the use of racial slurs.
“It’s pretty clear I meant no malice,” Luke Valentine continued on his Instagram live, “it’s pretty clear I had no ill intent.”
During a conversation with fellow house guests Cory Wurtenberger, Hisam Goueli, and Jared Fields, Valentine said “We’re in the f—-ing cheese room, n—-.” Immediately realizing the poor choice in words, Valentine apologized to the group. He then quickly brushed off the situation as he claimed being in “worse trouble” in his past.
Jared Fields, the only black male currently remaining in the household said in the moment “Whoa, bro, what did you say?” Valentine quickly attempted to lighten the situation by suggesting Fields stand over Valentine while he laid “face down on the floor.”
The house guests of Big Brother season 25 have been sequestered within the house since the incident and are unable to comment other than what has been said on the series itself.
Regarding the severity of his punishment, Valentine feels he should have “received a slap on the wrist” for his violation of the Code of Conduct. Valentine cites the persistent lighting, poor nutrition, and sleep deprivation while chasing the $750,000 grand prize as the reason for his choice of words.
“… you don’t really take into account the psychological distress of being under studio lighting 24/7 and not knowing who your friends are, who your enemies are.” Valentine posited.
Valentine claimed Big Brother producers needed to “make a sacrifice” regarding the situation. Ultimately he felt the series had “made the wrong decision.” He then lamented leaving the contest as it was “the most fun I’ve ever had in my life.”
Although Luke Valentine is no longer a house guest on Big Brother season 25, the competition continues weekly on CBS. The finale date is set for November 9, 2023.
