Lani surprises Paulina. Lani and Eli look at Abe’s memorial. Lani wants to see the evidence. Lani and Eli look at the evidence at the Salem PD and she wonders why Jerry would lie. Abe watches Body & Soul and is confused when he sees “Theo” on it. A shot rings out at Gabi and Stefan’s engagement party. Eric and Nicole kiss.

Harris Shoots Megan
Megan thinks her plans are going perfectly when Harris Michaels shows up at Gabi and Stefan’s engagement party and pulls his gun. She pretends to be frightened that he is there to kill her, but he tells everyone he is there to kill Stefan, on Li’s orders! Chad realizes he is brainwashed again and tries to talk him down but can’t. Rafe draws his gun and Gabi jumps on Harris’ back to try to stop him. As Harris tries to get her off, the gun goes off and Megan is shot! Is this the end for the evil Megan Hathaway or is she truly her father’s daughter?

Lani Comes Home
Lani gets furloughed from prison for Abe’s funeral and surprised her mother when she comes home. Lani feels that there is something amiss and that they don’t know for sure what happened to Abe. She wants to see the evidence and help with the case. When she finds out that the witness who said he saw Abe go into the water is a paid actor, she is even more suspicious that all is not as it seems, and it gives her hope that Abe isn’t really dead.

A dangerous Harris crashes Gabi and Stefan’s engagement party. Rafe catches Li lurking. Nicole complains to Eric about EJ abandoning her. Leo finds Kristen and EJ.

Lani returns to Salem. Chanel tries to no avail to get Paulina to snap out of her deep depression. Theo catches up with Steve and Kayla as well as John and Marlena. Steve and John compare notes about Abe. Abe has no choice but to keep watching a soap opera.
7/5/23
Abe is stunned to see Theo. Whitley gives her condolences to Paulina. Jerry runs into Theo and is overcome by guilt. Chanel and Talia have a bit of a rapprochement. Eli and Lani celebrate their anniversary.

Gwen gives Dimitri an answer about his proposal. Kristen threatens Leo. Belle is dismayed to find Shawn drinking. EJ and Kate are shocked to find Gabi instead of Megan. Nicole breaks down and Eric comforts her.
