This week Days of Our Lives paid tribute to Another World fan favorite, Cass Winthrop who was played by Stephen Schnetzer! They said he is a councilman in Salem, bringing the character into the Days universe! The nod happened in the scene where Abe (James Reynolds) was about to step down from the position of Mayor after getting the call from Cass but Paulina made a drastic on-the-spot decision instead.

Schnetzer portrayed Winthrop from 1982 until Another World’s cancellation in 1999. He also had a stint on Days from 1978-1979, playing Julie’s brother, Steve Olsen. Schnetzer also appeared as Cass on As the World Turns from 1999 to 2002 and again from 2005 to 2006 and on Guiding Light in 2002.
