Alonzo B. Slater has joined the cast of Grown-ish for season 5. in the role of David. Grown-ish is an American sitcom series and a spin-off of the ABC series Black-ish. It follows the Johnsons’ eldest daughter Zoey (Yara Shahidi) as she goes to college and begins her journey to adulthood only to quickly discover that not everything goes her way once she leaves the nest.  The series is created by Kenya Barris and Larry Wilmore and produced by Khalabo Ink Society Cinema Gypsy Productions and Principato-Young Entertainment with Anthony Anderson, Helen Sugland and Brian Dobbins as executive producers. The first season premiered on Freeform in 2017. The series was renewed for a fifth season which premiered on July 20, 2022.

Slater’s is an American Actor who was born on August 2, 1990, in Jersey City, NJ. He graduated from William Paterson University with an English Degree. Slater is a well-accomplished actor, model, and comedian. He has been seen in several commercials and print ads i.e. Asics, Verizon, American Express, Facebook, Stella Artois, and Ford to name a few. He also starred in countless indie films, television shows and shorts such as “Remembering Wednesday”, which was the official selection of the Webisode Film Festival. Alonzo continues to passionately pursue his acting career today. Most recently Alonzo has starred in a featured film as a lead role on “A Christmas for Mary” for Oprah’s OWN network. He is a proud SAG-AFTRA member.
